Trim the Fat

Changing the way your clothes fit does wonders for how your body looks.
Take some of your plaid or solid-colored button-downs and have them brought in at the waist and the shoulders. It’s an easy way to have clean-looking tops appropriate for either the office or an evening out. Do the same with your jeans or khakis—ask your tailor to bring the cut closer along the inseam and adjust the length of each leg.
Keep your outfits easy and understated, enough to suit your day-to-day routine comfortably.
Stay Neutral
Via Pinterest
Choose pieces with solid colors or patterns in neutral shades: white, black, navy, and brown are usually safe choices. Denim jackets, corduroy pants, and blazers are just some of the things you can safely try within a neutral color palette.
Your clothes will apply to many casual and semi-formal occasions, as they’ll be easy to pair.
Pack Light
Accessorize sparingly. A classic black or silver timepiece is easy to match with most shirt colors. If you need glasses, square black frames or clubmasters are difficult to fault on most head shapes.
Bring a thin and light wallet, as you don’t want an unsightly bulge. Keep a Maya card ready and loaded (You can do this at any 7-Eleven store!) and you can pay with both your card and your phone where it applies. Hailing a ride through app-based cabs is easy, too, because Maya serves as a perfectly functional Visa card.
That’s your entire day planned with just one card, without the visual clutter and business of a chunky wallet.
