In February, Manila becomes a hub for the arts. Dozens of performers each year make up the Fringe Festival, a performance series that happens in several venues all over the city. The 2018 lineup promises 182 unique shows put on by about 300 passionate Filipino and International artists.

Kaye Peñaflor is a Filipino-Canadian yoga teacher and dance artist. She is well-known as the host of the TV show Live Breathe Yoga. In Canada, she served for a time as the dance director of Folkorico Filipino Canada, a folk dance group.
She will give several yoga workshops over the course of the festival, all of which you can buy tickets for through TicketWorld. Given Peñaflor’s renown in the yoga community, this will be an exciting class for beginners and seasoned practitioners alike!

Two theater groups team up to produce this show, made up of two separate plays. The twin-bill production promises to show love in two distinct ways. It looks like we’ll have to see the show to discover more about these stories!

Playback Theater is a form of improvised theater that uses stories from the audience or the cast to create scenes on the spot. DulamBuhay is staging one such show for Fringe 2018. Expect to hear tales throughout the night about dogs, heartache, and hugot stories—and to laugh as the cast acts them out spontaneously.
SOMNUS: A Modern Circus Art Show

This modern circus art show will feature dramatic scenes and masterful object manipulation. Watch masters of illusion and juggling demonstrate their skill, set to a backdrop of mesmerizing lights.
