How to understand the numbers on your PayMaya App/Card
Before you can buy anything online, online stores will ask for 3 important numbers from you: your card number, its expiration date, and the security code. These are the same numbers that you get when you create a PayMaya account. Here’s a breakdown of what those numbers mean.
PAYMAYA APP NUMBERS
CARD NUMBER: This 16-digit number is unique to your card. It’s the first detail that you enter when you fill out the payment pages of stores. All Visa numbers start with a 4.
VALID THRU/EXPIRATION DATE: This is the month and year when your card will expire. You can only use your card until this date.
CVV2 OR SECURITY CODE: This 3-digit number is also unique to your card. CVV 2 means Card Verification Value and is used for Internet transactions. This number is used by online stores to confirm that you yourself have your card number with you. It’s like your password.
PAYMAYA CARD NUMBERS
The numbers on a physical PayMaya card are the same, except that the CVV/Security code is printed at the back of your card.
Just a reminder: There are things that your PayMaya app can’t do that a physical card can:
This means you can’t bring your app to the mall and present it to the cashier when you pay for your items. But! The good thing about having both the app and the card is if you lose your card, you can still use your app to pay online.
